Through this article you are going to learn why it is so difficult for most of us to maintain a healthy body weight and what are the ways through which you can maintain a healthy weight loss. Everyone talks about how to reduce weight but how to maintain the weight loss is something which nobody generally talks. It takes a lots of efforts and hardwork to shed the extra kilos from body but the body generates appetite stimulating hormone making the patients regain the reduced weight that makes maintaining the weight loss seems hard. No well documented research data is available on this topic but now researchers at the University of Copenhagen have put forward a new sensational study, which is being published in the world's most quoted medical journal, The New England Journal of Medicine in this study they find the best possible treatment method to maintain a healthy weight loss. If we talk about India a large number of the population is facing the problem of obesity, obesity doesn’t come alone it comes with many problems like diabetes, increased risk for early death, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and infertility. One must know that obesity is a consequence of a poor lifestyle, bad eating habits and lack of physical activities sometimes it can be heredity as well. After so many research studies we have concluded that weight loss can be achieved by proper food nutrition and intense exercise. In order to reduce weight it is important to maintain the calorie deficient diet which means calories you are taking per day should be less than maintenance calorie, For most people, a calorie deficit of 500 calories per day is sufficient for weight loss.
Now coming back to the research in which they first reduce the weight of patients through balance diet and then they divided the patients into four different groups and each group receive different type of treatment to maintain the weight. The treatment followed by diet-induced weight loss, in which the participants initially followed a low-calorie diet over eight weeks, where they each lost approximately 13 kg, which brought great improvements to their health with a drop in blood sugar level and blood pressure. They divided the groups into A,B,C,D. The group A received placebo medication along with 75 min. intense exercise. Placebo medication is basically made to look exactly like a real drug but is made of an inactive substance, such as a starch or sugar and has no medicinal impact on body. Group B also receive placebo medication but with no physical exercise. Group C received something different from the other two they received obesity medication which is designed to inhibit the appetite stimulating hormone which causes weight regain. Group D received obesity medication along with an intense exercise session of 75 mins. The results were quite shocking and opened a new gate to understand the scientific way of maintaining weight loss. Group A and C maintained the 13 kg of weight loss for a year with improvement in their health, while the group B regain almost 6 kg weight at the end of the year. The maximum benefit is shown by group D which received obesity medication along with intense workout they not only reduce 16 kg weight at the end of the year but also show improved muscle mass and health.
This research concluded that to maintain weight loss you have to take care of the appetite stimulating hormone which is the consequence of weight loss, if we fail to do so then probably you will end up regaining the weight. Obesity medication and an intense workout is what you need just after you succeed to lose extra kilos from your body.
